He's also Charles Osgood's vacation replacement on The Osgood File. Dave's resolution to provide "drive-by wisdom to the masses one listener at a time," in-turn creating "Crusaders for Common Sense" reflect his commitment to using his show as a vehicle for improving the KIRO and Seattle community. Dave's show is a touchstone for local news, election coverage, balanced debate and social conscience. During his time hosting "The Dave Ross Show," Dave has interviewed prominent individuals such as; Madeleine Albright, Dick Cheney, Barack Obama, Desmond Tutu and Colin Powell. In 2004, Dave took a leave of absence to run for the open seat in the 8th Congressional District, winning a three-way Democratic primary, but losing 52%-48% in the general election. He remains active on the boards of the Transportation Choices Coalition, and the Economic Opportunity Institute.
